Meet Honni Hayton
Specialising in Women’s Counselling Services
A qualified, practicing counsellor , Honni Hayton has been helping people live their best life for over 20 years. She specialises in providing women’s counselling services, both in person and online. She also provides relationship counselling to help couples find happiness again.
Honni is also an EDMR therapist, helping people overcome past trauma in their life and break free of scripting that holds them back.
Honni’s clients report many positive outcomes including increased confidence, greater self-esteem, improved health, clearer thinking, healthier relationships and a greater sense of meaning and purpose in their life.
Honni’s clients are, in the main, women who face challenges at work, at home or in relationships. These issues may stem from depression, anxiety, grief or poor communication. Honni helps women who lack energy or confidence, are overwhelmed by feelings of loss or despair, struggle in key relationships and fear the future.
Her holistic approach reflects not only Honni’s qualifications and depth and breadth of experience but also her natural compassion, insightfulness and understanding. She also has a firm commitment to the fundamental role of self-care in each client’s personal growth. When providing women’s counselling service, Honni’s greatest professional satisfaction comes when a woman has a significant boost in her sense of self. When this happens, a woman’s physical health often improves and so does her appreciation of life. This often comes when she realises that her life is the result of the choices she makes. She learns that it is within her power to identify and make the choices that enable her to live her best life.
Under Honni’s thoughtful guidance, clients are encouraged to practice intentional self-care in five key areas of their lives using a clear ‘STEPS’ framework. This is where each aspect of self-care is represented: Social, Thinking, Emotional, Physical and Spiritual. Supported by the STEPS framework, Honni’s clients soon experience a level of emotional wellbeing and self-awareness that naturally pave the way for positive personal growth.
Completing a Relationship Check-up Questionnaire helps Honni identify areas in a relationship that need attention. The couple then work with Honni to examine natural relationship stages and unhelpful relationship myths. They develop effective communication strategies including setting comfortable boundaries; and learning to rekindle passion. This may also include identifying patterns in a client’s life that are not conducive to good relationships and developing strategies to change them.
Honni and Tony, her husband of 27 years, moved to Queensland’s beautiful Scenic Rim in 2004. They have raised five amazing children together. Although Covid-19 ruined her plans to celebrate her fiftieth birthday with a trip to Europe, she still holds firm to her childhood dream of one day standing in a tulip field in Holland!
